There's a reason bass frequencies are called "fundamentals."And
the PSW-1 powered subwoofer provides just the right sonic
foundation to anchor music, special effects, and our emotions
as we respond to the clues provided by composers and sound
engineers. Despite its small size, the PSW-1 draws on the
AAD's substantial knowledge and experience to provide a wholly
unexpected level of bass response.
Each of the PSW -1' s six high excursion aluminum cone 5.25"drivers
features a 4-layer 1"copper voice coil. Although most people
do not associate smaller drivers with significant bass output,
the total cone area of these drivers exceeds that of a single
12"cone. In addition, the smaller cones offer a degree of
control most other bass reproducers simply can not approach.
The result is low frequency performance that is tight, responsive,
and very revealing of the detail most other subwoofers obscure.
The integral 200 watt Class AB amplifier uses proven bipolar
transistors to assure excellent dynamic response to the most
demanding bass frequencies. A five-band equalizer with adjustments
at 25, 40, 60, 80, and 100 Hz means you can tailor the PSW
-1' s response to virtually any room regardless of where
in that room you place it. A continuously variable phase
control (0 through -180°), a variable crossover (40 through
160 Hz), and a low-pass gain control blends the PSW -1' s
output with whatever full range speakers you choose.
The result is stunning bass response from an enclosure small
enough to almost disappear in any room. It's the perfect
complement to a full P Series system or an ideal add-on for
anyone who wants to simply improve the bass response of speakers
already in a system.
