The new M-5T loudspeaker represents a welcomed and long overdue advancement in economical performance for the new audio/video enthusiast and, despite its rather unassuming traditional appearance, can safely be called a tower speaker like no other currently available in its price range from anyone.

The reason for this is quite simple. Many speaker companies choose to go for fancy cosmetics and marketing oriented visual deceptions (enormous cheap drivers, bizarre shapes, shiny cabinets etc.) instead of going for sonic performance when faced with the task of designing an affordable speaker… we don’t.

The M-5T means business and is about sound reproduction. The M-5T utilizes AAD in-house developed and manufactured proprietary drive units and technology-something virtually unheard of in speakers at this price point-such as custom designed high output mid-bass drive units, precisely matched and tuned crossovers and our newly developed RDT-Ring Diffraction Transducer-tweeter. This type of high frequency technology is currently found in only speakers costing many thousands of dollars more and offers ultra-wide bandwidth, giving the M-5T an extremely wide frequency response of 40Hz to in excess of 40kHz in an economical design. The M-5T simply breaks all the rules and goes beyond the performance of any speaker AAD has ever offered at this price.

The M-5T drive units are mounted to a thick front baffle with an acoustical damping material layered around the drivers to prevent sonic reflections and housed in a deceptively simplistic looking yet sophisticatedly damped and braced narrow enclosure to minimize box coloration. The M-5T utilizes computer tuned dual vents maximize output for explosive music and film effects without port noise or chuffing associated with many speakers in this price range. The M-5T has bi-wire/bi-amp connections for maximizing performance.
